A Sunday Afternoon….

and it’s the Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK and of course it’s raining..well they did forecast it and if ‘they’ are to believed then we have much more to come before tomorrow evening. Anyway I’m taking advantage of being forced to stay indoors and I’m catching up on a few outstanding things.

Looking back at my blog I thought I would like to show you a few more photo’s from our holiday at the beginning of the year. On our way out to Perth we stopped off in Singapore for a few days and went across to Sentosa (which means tranquillity in Malay..) Island by cable car.

I took this photo from inside the cable car we were in…the journey doesn’t take very long but you do get some wonderful views.

Once on the Island we took an organised tour and the first stop was at the Butterfly and Insect Park. The Butterflies were wonderful to see and here are a couple that very kindly stayed still long enough for me photograph them!

We then visited and watched a Dolphin Show which normally I wouldn’t want to see as I feel strongly that these beautiful creatures should be free to swim where ever they want but I must admit these lovely pink dolphins did look very happy and were so well cared for and here is a pic of one ..

So now we’ll leave Singapore for the time being and come back to the UK. Last week I took a friend who has just finished having treatment for Breast Cancer for a walk as she needs to start building up her stamina to get fit again. We went over to this beautiful old house

called Hylands Park which has been restored and is now open to the general public.

It’s not far from Billericay and we took a walk around their lovely gardens which are at the back of the house and here are a couple of photo’s:

So today we’ve been to Sentosa Island just off Singapore and back to the UK. I hope you’ve enjoyed your travels with me and looking at my pics. Again many thanks for visiting and leaving your lovely comments I really do appreciate reading them.

Take care and go safe!!

Going rusty…

yes I think I’m turning rusty from all the rain that we’ve been having of late and I thought this pic. of a rust heap taken in Galway was appropriate ….yes I know I shouted loud enough at the end of April for rain for my garden but I really didn’t need this much. And of course another downside to the weather is that I’m confined indoors although of course it does mean I can catch up on some PC work..and of course housework!!

I still seem to be struggling with my macro lens and getting ‘just the right’ shot there have been many deletions not only on the camera but also when viewing what I thought were hopeful pics on the PC..but I will get there. I feel the need for another book on taking photo’s coming on!!

Over at DSSA we’ve been busy preparing for a newsletter due out at the beginning of June and I completed another layout but I can’t show it here until after the newsletter is released.

Well 2 days have passed since I started this and what a change, the weather has picked up and its got a little warmer. Mind you it still seems to cloud over very quickly and we have some showers but not as bad as it was. Also on the photography front I’m pleased to say I’ve managed to get a couple of decent Macro’s which I’ll show here…

So now I’m going to upload this otherwise I can see another 2 days passing by before I get around to up dating again..

Thanks so much for visiting and leaving your comments…I do so enjoy reading them.

Flowers….

Well I’m trying to get back on track again and catch up on friends blogs besides doing my own…I think the reason why I’m so behind is it Spring time…coming summer and of course the garden needs my attention. So with the garden in mind I’m showing this time round some pics of flowers from the garden

Lilac which always reminds me of my Grandmother as it was her favourite plant

Clematis Montana climbs over the fence just outside my backdoor

First Rosebud

What else has been going on in my life…well I’m still playing or trying to play with my camera and new macro lens but it seems an uphill struggle at the moment. For every one photo I think is ok there must be at least 10 that aren’t so I must keep practising to improve….I think sometimes I’m trying to run before I can walk!!

The weather has changed to be a lot cooler and of course we had some long overdue rain which I was so pleased to have for my garden…I’ve not played much golf although last week we did have a golf day called our ‘Spring Meeting’ where we play golf during the day in a competition (no my partner and I did not win!)and then in the evening we went back for a dinner and presentation of prizes by the Lady Captain. It’s was a lovely day and a way of catching up with friends that we haven’t seen much of during the winter months.

We also recently had a Template Challenge over at DSSA set for us by Kat and using a template she had created…as my digi scrapping has been put on one side of late whilst I’ve been playing with my camera I thought this would be an easy way of getting one done quite quickly…it was a double page template and I’ve used photo’s taken when in Galway…lots of credits go to Kat for template & B/G Paper, Conny for Fonts, doodle of seals & Bubbles, & Fernlili for other papers and overlay..here’s the double page..

As always thanks so much for visiting and leaving your lovely comments.
